Happy Tuesday everyone! Sorry for the absence, but I've been playing "catch up" since our Vegas trip. This past Sunday I had planned on spending the day in my craft room, but there were leaves to rake. 36 large clear leaf bags to be exact ! We were short a pair of hands with our son away at school, so I obviously forgot to factor that in when I thought that I could steal away to my room ! So I'll make this a quick post so that I can get busy with more Christmas cards. My good friend and faithful card customer Brenda Hawkins, needed a card before I went on vacation so this is what I "whipped up" for her before I left. The image is from Stamping Bella, coloured with Prisma Color pencils, the double sided dp is from My Mind's Eye,used my "Nesties" and a Martha Stewart punch, the yummy ribbon is from Papertrey, sponged on a bit of chalk ink, added a touch of Crystal Effects on the flower on the vase, then just "pop dotted" a button onto the bow. I'm off to my craft room,.......oops before I go I want to direct you to check out Deanne's blog,Three Trees Paper Creations. She's a fellow "Canuck" with some serious talent and she's offering up some "Christmas Candy"! Til next time,.............

You've Got to Know When to Hold 'm,......
Well, how have you all been? I'm finally back ! Back from the bright lights and hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps ! It was my DH's 50th, and he wanted to celebrate it in Las Vegas. We ate at some great restaurants, met up with friends and saw Jay Leno on stage at the Terry Fator theatre, and the slots were kind to me! I love Las Vegas! So today, I want to show you the card that I gave him the morning of his birthday. I've never made an acetate card, but I thought I would take a stab at it. I picked up the double-sided dp from Stampin Up because it was just perfect and all the extras, came from one of the local dollar stores. I don't recall ever using stickers on a card before but what do you think? Does it work or what ? I was thrilled to bits with this card and so was my "gamblin' man"! It's great to get away but it's good to get back home and get back into that familiar routine. Hope last week was a good one for you too. If you've never attempted an acetate card,........take a gamble! What do you have to lose? Til next time..........

Can You "Dig It" ?
Hi everyone! Thought that you might like to see the card that I made for my hubby for our anniversary last week. I picked this adorable little guy and sentiment up at Scrappin Great Deals on one of my "rubbah runs". These stamps are from High Hopes, not sure about the dp though because it's been in the stash for quite some time! I used my Prisma Color pencils and Nestibilities,"popped up" the sentiment and added a button and gingham ribbon. I really have to refrain from adding "glitz" to guy cards,........ it's a struggle let me tell ya ! This card works for a couple of challenges out there, Crazy 4 Challenges and Allsorts. Hope you all have a fantastic day,.............oh I almost forgot! * ENABLER ALERT* Attention all Canadians ! Sheila at Scrappin Great Deals, is offering *FREE* shipping on orders of $45 before taxes! Hurry! Ends midnight tonight! Free is good! Can you dig it ?..............Til next time!

Got My Christmas Mojo Workin'
Oh it's cool and crisp here today. Perfect weather for staying indoors crafting or sitting in front of the fireplace! Ohhhhhhh! I might just combine the two and do some colouring while "toasting my toes" near the fire. In my last post, I showed you my demo card, so today, I thought you might like to see how my mass production is coming along. I make Christmas cards for my husband's staff, 20 to be exact and I like to do a few different designs just to keep it interesting and not to mention, challenge myself a bit. Do you see the jars of red pepper jelly that I'll package up for Christmas gift giving in the one picture? I had my Christmas Mojo workin' last week! Thanks for stopping by today, have a good one,..........til next time!

Hey, I'm back with another quick post! My DH is taking me out to supper this evening so I have to make this quick. I mentioned in my last post about mass producing Christmas cards but this one was the "demo" so to speak. I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges and the colour combo for the Basic Grey challenge and the theme from Stamping Bella as long as I interpreted it correctly as it was anything that has to do with nature. All of the paper is from Basic Grey, the image is a Bella stamp, and I used my pencils to colour her up, added some glitter, buttons and "punch debris" from my EK Success snowflake boarder punch. Seriously, the perfect little snowflakes were the "leftovers" and I just couldn't throw them out! Have a good night and I'll be back ............til next time!

It's Hump Day!
Okay, just a quick post this morning because I have a hair appointment,I need to "pop" into my lss to pick up a certain ribbon for Christmas cards that I have been mass producing, and pick up something for supper for tonight. Then to top it all off, tomorrow is our 21st wedding anniversary, and do I have a card made ? Noooooooooo! So I need to whip something up that expresses my undying love and devotion ! Tee tee hee! Too funny ! Prior to making my own cards, I would purchase the funny "knee slapping" ones and my darling hubby to this day will buy the "hopelessly devoted to you" ones! Okay, shouldn't have done that, song now stuck in head! Moving right along, my card today fits the bill for a couple of challenges. Kraftin' Kimmie's challenge this week is to use buttons, and the sketch is from The Pink Elephant. This is Francesca, from Kimmie's stamps. LOVE THEM! They are super fun to colour and I like pairing them up with fun, bright paper. They also come with a "bonus" mini stamp, so I "pop dotted" the huge cupcake mini stamp to make it look like she is offering it to you. I used my Prisma color pencils, some Stickles and glitter, Basic Grey papers, a Martha Stewart punch and buttons from my stash. Got to run,......Have a Happy Wednesday,..........til next time!

Gobble Gobble Gobble !
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! This weekend, I am thankful for the bounty of our land and for the hands that work it, for the continued good health and prosperity of family and friends, and for the freedom that is offered me because of the dedication of the courageous men and woman that make it so. I used the sketch for the Basic Grey challenge and the birthday theme for Kraftin' Kimmie's very first challenge. This is Charlotte, she is one of the stamps that I picked up last weekend at the launch of Kimmie's new stamp line. I coloured her using my Prisma Color pencils and added a bit of Sakura clear glaze pen on Charlotte's shoes and on the buttons of her babies' dresses. The sentiment is also from Kimmie's new stamps. I matched Charlotte up with this "wacky and wild" dp from Basic Grey, then added some "faux stitching" and some buttons. Time for me to get busy in the kitchen,.........thanks for dropping by ! Til next time,............

Just Another Manic Monday
Well it's the 5th of October and I know that a lot of you are thinking that it's just the beginning of another dreary work week, but for others it is the beginning of a brand new journey. I'm a huge fan of spontaneity, so at the last minute yesterday morning, I phoned my BFF Brenda and we were off to Scrappin Great Deals for the launch party of Kraftin Kimmie's new stamps. And what a party it was! You couldn't help but feel the positive energy once inside the store! The sheer talent in the store amazed me !I made sure to shake a lot of hands with hopes that some of that incredible talent would rub off! {giggle} There were free make and takes and a Copic marker demonstration by one of Kimmie's artists,Crissy Armstrong, Sheila supplied nibbles and bless her heart, 15% off storewide ! Not only did we chat with Kimmie about her dream of one day having her own stamps, but we also got to meet some of her Design Team members what a treat! Now let's get down to the real "nitty gritty" Kimmie's stamps,..............AWESOME! OMG! I was watching all of the sneak peaks last week, and I knew that I was in TROUBLE! So here is a pic from yesterday's launch party, from left to right, Sheila(store owner)my BFF, Brenda, Kimmie, and moi . Check out Brenda's blog later tonight or tomorrow for more pics. Now go over to Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner, she's having her first blog hop, so stop by and show her some love. Cheers to the "dreamers of the world" . Best Wishes Kimmie!

How Many More Sleeps Until Hallowe'en ?
Hi all ! Have you had a good week so far? Can you believe that September has come to an end ? Tomorrow I'm going to get my mums and do up my fall display outside, weather permitting of course. The weather has been very damp and cool the last couple of days. (frown!) Even though I love the colours of fall, I have a hard time adjusting to the sudden change in the temperature. A few weeks back, I got a phone call from a London friend that asked if she and another friend of hers could come and hang out with me in my craft room. Well, yesterday was our "play day" ! Now these two gals are "scrappers" and they have just discovered their "passion" for card making ! The plan was for them to make 3 cards each (got up early to cut all the papers)and a trip to my lss, The Paper Pickle. Sorry, I got so caught up in the moment that I didn't take any pics but I will next time ! It was an absolute thrill for me to see their wide eye "wonder " and "awe" when I pulled out my Prisma Color pencils and showed them how I use them with a blender/stump and baby oil ! Karla and Anne Marie I'm sure will be "pros" the next time we get together because I 'm predicating that Prisma Color pencils are in their very near future ! Now, brace yourself,......... I've never made a Hallowe'en card before because we "Canucks" really don't celebrate it. When my kids were small , I used to make up neat treat bags for their school mates and the neighbourhood kiddies but never cards ! When our daughter was 3, we (her dad!) bought her an incredible handmade purple butterfly costume. She loved that costume and would wear nothing else for Hallowe'en ! I think she managed to wear it for the next 3 years and was known to fall asleep in it after trick or treating. Poor little "bug" would be just "whipped" from all of that walking . Well, yesterday,Karla gave me this little Huggabugg from Stamping Bella in appreciation of having them down . So, thank you girls, I also had a blast and here is the finished product. The stamp, as I mentioned, is from Stamping Bella, coloured with Prisma Color pencils, the pumpkin is from a really really old SU set and I added the eyes and mouth, the papers are from DCWV and Papertrey, added some glitter to the wing, Glossy Accents to the "popped up" leaf, a dab of black Sakura pen on the "popped up" teddy bear's nose, and finally a yummy polka dot ribbon with a "fun" bow. The challenges this week are Stamp Something , If the Shoe Fits , Allsorts, and Stamping Bella. Again , thanks Karla and Anne Marie, you were "awesome" students and we will definitely do it again ! Next week, I'm working on Christmas cards. How many sleeps before Christmas ? Til next time...................

Flowers for You!
HAPPY THURSDAY!
I hope that you all have been having a great week so far and you're getting geared up for the weekend. This week has flown by hasn't it ? Well, I managed to get a couple cards done this week for a few challenges . For this card I used the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch, the Basic Grey challenge this week was to use embossing, and Penny Black challenge was to use lace and pearls. I stamped the Penny Black image using my Tombow markers, then stamped, cut out, and popped up an extra stem then added a few pearls. I ran the Basic Grey dp through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dot folder and for my lace used a Martha Stewart punch. I added just a bit a ribbon as a finishing touch. So these flowers are for you! I appreciate all of you stopping by and visiting my blog !
Steppin' Out !
For this card, I used the sketch from Mojo Monday and the colour combo, lime green, white plus black and white polka dots from, If the Shoe Fits. I used Sunshine Designs stamps to stamp the images on the white background paper then stamped out , paper pieced, and pop dotted the shoe. I created the two rows of "scallops"using my circle "Nesties", added the ribbon, the bow with a heart button ,and because it's so "girly" I thought that it needed some "jewellery" so I put on lots of rhinestones ! I love this colour combo !
